Project Description GOALS:
(1) Develop a GIS for our work in geography education, NGO support
(2) Develop quick-turn-around capabilities to produce GIS analyses and maps on current issues/topics for dissemination in various large and small, digital and analog, formats with English and non-English Indian language content.

RESOURCES AVAILABLE:
(1) QGIS desktop.
(2) One high-end workstation.
(3) Inkjet color printer.

SKILLS NEEDED:
GIS expertise to
(1) Create a bank of boundary files for India (village to country level).
(2) Set these up to work with MapMaker such that quick and easy analyses and map production is possibe.
Ability to:
(1) Mobilize necessary resources to build the data bank.
(2) Develop teaching-level, easy to use, GIS lessons for school students, teachers.
(3) Develop infrastructure to set up free online map server for India-related data with free access to anyone on the net.
Knowledge of Kannada and/or Hindi would be helpful but not a must.
